Welcome

Thanks for checking out my work. I appreciate the kind words shared by people visiting this site and try to post new caricatures every week.
I have been drawing all my life, but in 2008 I found the International Society of Caricature Artists
and fell in love with caricatures. I work everyday to improve and hopefully you can see improvements from my first posts here on this blog.
Within the last months (as of August 09) I have stated working on commissions for private parties and corporations. I hope to continue to grow and produce works of art for magazines and other publications.
If your interested, please contact me.
I also do dj and karaoke work. You can also find me on facebook.

Local

I was asked to do a caricature of this young man and his girlfriend. The photos i took of her were all on the blurry side so i just did him for now. I may got back and tighten things up the but the shirt was a pain in the butt. If you look close at the hat , I changed the MLB logo to a person singing into a microphone since i met the subject at a karaoke job, and he sings My Girl. A reference photo is below the caricature.

Lesson 4

Lesson 4 in the class i am taking is about values in a painting. We were able to do a gray scale painting or a monochromatic painting, which is what I chose to do.

Birthday People: February 15: Sonny Bono

I tried a little something different with color this time.

Drawings

Here are a few drawings i did Sunday night while waiting to play at a Party. Dean Martin, Ruth Rendell, who i don't know a lot about, and a woman named Shannon, who worked at the hotel where i was playing.

Lesson 4

Here is the homework for the class i am taking. I did NOT do the drawing I just did the Grayscale coloring. It was a lot of fun. If you click on the image you can see a much larger view. There is a lot of detail to the drawing, which made it fun.

Art Spiegelman

The National Caricaturist Network is not having a daily drawing contest. Not sure there is a prize, but it is a way to keep in practice. The first one was Art Spiegelman who celebrates a birthday today. Here is my effort and in case you don't know who he is, there is a reference picture below.

I started taking an online class from a caricature artist i met in North Carolina. So far we had an assignment of drawing five sketches from some photos the instructor sent us and then a drawing of Tom Hanks. They are posted below. Loving classes!!
