For 20 some years I have been in the DJ business. It all started when I Had to play music on weekends to Pay the bills. My business started out with two borrowed speakers, a borrowed amp and a box I made with four Yard lights that I had to manually turn on and off to get them to blink. Time went on and technology changed. I graduated from cassettes to the CD and then the computer. From the tower to a laptop. From a huge hard drive to one i can fit in my pocket.
I have done almost every kind of party or event you can think of. From 5 hours of polka music to a fireman's convention and everything in between.
I work with QSC powered speakers. They are pictured above. They are one of the best speakers I have ever heard. They are a nice crisp clear sound. I also use the QSC K-Subs when needed. I also carry a couple wireless microphones and a lot of extension chords.
I do have lighting, YES! I am not a big fan of folks dancing in the dark. I know it was a big hit with Bruce Springsteen, but I'd rather see people enjoying the night. I use a couple sets of the light pictures above and a couple moving head lights to have some movement going on. With the switch to LED lighting I usually run these at half power even in large rooms. The make a nice wash on the entire dance floor.
